Kul-Sei Lakes

Three pretty green lakes Kul-Sei (Kolsai) are among forest foothills Keng-Alatau, 110 km. to the east of Alma-Ata. Lakes formed by the river Kul-Sei are at an altitude of about 2000 meters. You will be amazed by the beauty and pure glacial water. It's a great place for camping enthusiasts, as well as an excellent place for recreation and fishing for trout.

The weather, especially in mountainous areas, is very changeable, so the best time for travelling is summer. You can go on foot to the picturesque mountain paths or make more interesting horse tour. Through 3 kilometre-long ridge Sary-Bulak you can also make horse tour to the Kyrgyz village Balbey, which is on the shore of Issyk-Kul Lake. Here you will see a fantastic view of the north steppes of Kazakhstan.
